Our Lady of Lourdes of maple wood, handcrafted and hand-painted. As from a touch of the wind the dress and the blue belt in the waist gets a smooth carved twist.
The face is turned down and a long rosary hangs from the praying hands.
The feet are adorned with yellow roses, same as described by Bernadette when she narrated the apparition of the Virgin in the famous grotto of Massabielle in Lourdes where you’ll find one of the most important sanctuaries of the world. In few years only, our Lady appeared 18 times to little Bernadette. Since that day this place in southern France has been visited by thousands and thousands of pilgrims.
The small statue is represented on a cloud in a triptych wooden niche; a beautiful piece of jewelry and a cult object.
